Carilion adds third helicopter; Lifeguard 12 will be based in Lexington

Carilion Clinic announced that it will add a third medical transport helicopter to its Lifeguard fleet. This one will be based in Lexington. Carilion already operates two other medical helicopters - one in Roanoke and the other in the New River Valley.

He stated, "I have been a candidate in 12 political campaigns for county commissioner. Right now I have the strongest support at any time and it would be an honor to serve another term.

Golden LEAF board member's firm works on projects funded by board's grants

Committee studying fisheries management

MIKE SHUTAK RALEIGH — The state Legislative Research Commission Committee on Marine Fisheries has begun examining nine fishing issues, including a proposed bill that would designate certain fisheries as gamefish, making them only for recreational use, and possibly merging the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries with another agency.
